Which ZipZac® is the right size for my child?

ZipZac® come in two sizes. The original ZipZac® is designed for children as early as 9 months to 2.5 yrs depending on their development and the ZipZac® II is designed for children from 2-1/2 yrs up to 5. The most important measurement to consider is the actual width of the child’s hips. The original ZipZac® is for children with a hip width of 8.0" (20 cm) or less. The ZipZac® II is for children with a hip width of 10" (25 cm) or less.

The ZipZac® inside seat dimensions are 8.5” wide x 7.5” front to back x 5-1/2” high back support and leg opening between the side and center pommel is 3-1/4”.

The ZipZac® II inside seat dimensions are 10” wide x 9-1/2” depth x 11” high back support, leg opening between the side and center pommel is 3-3/4”.

How can we pay for this?

There are a number of ways to pay for a ZipZac®. First, the ZipZacs can be purchased on our website (please scroll to bottom of page to add to cart) or a check sent directly to Zchair LLC. If you don't like it, just return it or if you need the next size bigger, we'll exchange it. If you need any customizations to the chairs, we will have to quote it separately.

Currently, the chair is not coded, but we recommend your PT writing a strong letter of recommendation and submit to your insurance with the misc. code 2319. We are in the process of working to have the chair coded.

There are many great organizations willing to assist with the cost of a chair for a child with special needs. Always first consider family members, friends, and relatives. Then consider your local church, county programs for waivers, Shriners, Children’s Miracle Network, local or state SBA chapters, Lions Club. And there are many more.

Do you have anything bigger than the ZipZac®?

We are now able to provide a ZipZac® II that is 20% larger than the original ZipZac® and will work for most children ages 2-1/2 up to around 5. Please read the question on Which ZipZac® size is right for my child for more specifics.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, we do. Please contact us and let us know what ZipZac®'s and accessories you need along with your address. We will promptly provide you with a quote for shipping along with an expected time of delivery.

How much does it weigh?

The ZipZac® weighs 13 lbs and the ZipZac® II weighs 17.5 lbs. These both can be carried with one hand.

Are spare parts available?

Yes, we have all parts in stock.

Can the ZipZac® get wet?

The ZipZac® is designed for indoor use. The caster bearings can possible become rusty and need some lubrication. If it does get wet, be sure to wipe it down completely so it can dry.

How long will it take to get my ZipZac® shipped?

We try to make all shipments within two weeks of when the order is placed.
